Burbank Fest August 2008 - Misc Cast Reunion & David Selby

"The House"  was performed as a radio play, which gave the producer and performers great latitude in the casting and performance of their roles.  The original teleplay, as written by Art Wallace in the 1950's, was essentially the Jason McGuire storyline later used in Dark Shadows.  Only major differences were that the matriarch was Carolyn (Marie Wallace) her teenage daughter was named Elizabeth and  Elizabeth had a teenage beau (David Selby, playing a character reminiscent of a younger Joe Haskell) There was even  an analog of the Willie Loomis character, seafaring buddy of  the Jason McGuire analog (played by Jamison Selby, who also played the Sheriff later in the play).  The Jason McGuire analog  was played to the hilt by John Karlen, with an Irish brogue probably meant as a tip of the hat to the late Dennis Patrick.  Rounding out the cast were Denise Nickerson as a little girl taking piano lessons from Carolyn and Lara Parker as the girl's mother.
These pictures were shot with my Minolta, using an SRT-102 body with an 80-200 zoom and ASA 1600 film. Oddly enough the light on stage in THIS hotel was much better, so being I was shooting from the thrid row and did not need the 2X entender on the zoom, some shots were more overexposed than I would wish.
